GovernorHub has the ability to enforce multi-factor authentication across the board. This means that all users will be required to set up MFA as an extra layer of security when they log in to their account.
If MFA is disabled on their account, the user will be required to set MFA back up again when they next log in to GovernorHub. The MFA settings cannot be removed permanently from their account when MFA is enforced on the board.
Who can set up enforced MFA?
Any admin on the account can turn on enforced MFA for the board.
If your board is part of a trust, the Trust board can enforce MFA for all boards within the Trust.
If your board subscribes through a Governor Services, the Governor Services can also turn on enforced MFA for the board.
How do I enforce MFA across my board?
If you are an admin, you will need to:
Go to the About tab.
Find the Enforce multi-factor authentication section.
Click the box next to Require all members of this Governing Board to set up multi-factor authentication.
Once the box is clicked, MFA is enforced for all users on the board.
All users who do not currently have MFA set up on their account will be required to do so when they next log in.
How do I enforce MFA across my Trust?
If you would like MFA to be set up for all boards across the Trust, the Chair or CEO will need to contact us at support@governorhub.com. We can then set this up for you.
All users who do not currently have MFA set up on their account will be required to do so when they next log in. This is for any user on any board within the trust.
A governor services has already enforced MFA on my board/Trust
A governor service may require all boards to use multi-factor authentication. If this setting is turned on, any board under their service must have MFA enforced across their board.
This means that the enforcement of MFA for the board cannot be removed.
If this is the case, the tick box for will be greyed out.
Hovering the mouse over the enforce multi-factor authentication option will bring up a grey box that lets you know this has been enforced by your governor service.
For any queries on this, you will need to contact your governor service directly.
