Governors/Trustees can declare interests on their Profile page (app users will need to move over onto the browser version to do this).

(*Important* The 'Compliance' tab in a Governing Board area is for viewing only - Governors/Trustees must go to their profile page to edit their own).

Once logged in to GovernorHub, Governors/Trustees should click on their name at the top-right of the screen.

Then they click on the Profile option which takes them to their personal Profile page where they need to click on Compliance.

At the top of this page governors and trustees will be able to see the status of their declarations of interest and the date they last confirmed them. Green (as above) shows compliance (confirmed since September 1st of the current academic year). Orange shows expired declarations - Red shows they have yet to declare/confirm.

All users can click on the downwards arrow and use the buttons to re-confirm, unconfirm or edit their declarations.

Entering a new declaration

Governors/Trustees should click on the downward arrow then the blue '+add interest' button.

They complete the fields as required and then click on ‘Add’.

If they need to add more than one declaration, they just click ‘Add interest’ (the previous step) again.

When all declarations have been added they still need to confirm them so that the date is pulled into reports and the board viewing area.

Nothing to declare?

Even if a governor/trustee has no conflicts of interest, they still need to confirm that they have 'nothing to declare' so boards can evidence compliance.

They need to make sure there are no details recorded in the interests section and then they need to click confirm.

This will then show that they have confirmed they have nothing to declare and when they did so.

Viewing board declarations

You can view all declarations of interest for your board in the Compliance tab in a Governing Board area.

Chasing governors for completion made easy!

Clicking on the declarations of interest, as shown above will open a window that shows the status everyone on your board.

To send a reminder to anyone that is not compliant (those with amber or red warnings) just click on the send reminder button and select 'Share'. This will post a message on the board noticeboard and send an email message to all those that are non-compliant with a link for them to use to go and complete their declarations.

Do note, you can choose to remind anyone on your board or you can tick the box at the bottom of the message to only remind those with a live term of office.

The noticeboard post will clearly show who the message has gone to.

Downloading Declarations

You can download declarations for all members of your board from the governing board view.

Alternatively, go to the 'About' tab in your governing board area and then to 'Downloads'.

Scroll down until you reach the downloads for 'Declarations of interest'
